Scenes From A Tourney

Collecting little toy knights is only the first step. Then you need to decide how you’re going to display them. Some collectors actually keep their figures in their original boxes, but that makes no sense to me. My own preference is to use them to create scenes and dioramas that help them come alive.

Here are some pictures from my tournament diorama. The centerpiece, the wonderful royal viewing stand, was made by Ron Swaren of the Medieval Zone. The figures represent so many different makers that I’ve lost count: Courtenay, Greenhill, Ping, Plantagenet, Alymar, Chivalry, and Mignot, just for a start. Medieval Zone did the tilting barriers, entryway, and several of the tents. The other pavilions are from Battlements, Bob Hornung, Winton’s Dioramas, & King and Country.
